The Varsity F7 helmet is the newest helmet in the Schutt family. This helmet features the new Tectonic Plate 3DM system to help improve the management of rotational energy and impact absorption. These moveable plates along with five other layers of protection create the ultimate energy management system.

The F7 has the TPU Surefit AiR liner allowing air to move more freely creating a more secure and customized fit. The new F7 face guards offered features a tapered design for increased range of motion and decreased impact area promoting more of a glancing blow on frontal impacts. Weight is 3 pounds, 12 ounces! 1.69 kg !!

- To improve the management of rotational energy and impact absorption, we have incorporated strategically placed tectonic plates (front/crown/back) into the shell that move independently of the shell. These plates reduce the force of the hit and help distribute the energy of the hit. These movable plates along with five other layers of protection (tectonic plate, external TPU, shell, internal TPU, RDS liner, TPU liner) creates the ultimate energy management system. 83% of the hits occur in the following areas: Front (35%), Rear (32%), and Top (16%) as per the VT study. Top tectonic plate held by two screws and insert system (can be replaced). Bottom tectonic plate held by one screw and insert system (can be replaced). TPU outer layer (newly designed). Placed under the plates and on top of the shell, this energy management layer absorbs impact and helps distribute the energy of the hit.
